St. Peters, United States - April 20, 2026 / Church on the Rock /
ST. PETERS, MO – April 17, 2026 - Church on the Rock continues to provide a pathway to freedom and healing through its weekly Celebrate Recovery program, a Christ-centered 12-step ministry that meets every Thursday evening at the church's North Campus. The program offers hope and support to individuals struggling with addictions, hurts, habits, and hang-ups through biblical principles and community support.
Celebrate Recovery at Church on the Rock meets every Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the North Campus, located at 888 Birdie Hills Road in St. Peters. The program welcomes anyone dealing with a wide range of struggles, from substance abuse and behavioral addictions to emotional wounds and relationship issues.
"Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery program that meets at Church on the Rock every Thursday night to help people who struggle with hurts, habits and hang-ups find freedom and hope," said church leadership. "It's OK to not be OK, so you can come as you are, and you'll be welcomed with the unconditional love of Christ."
The ministry provides a safe environment where participants can share their experiences, struggles, strengths, and hopes with others on similar journeys. Through biblical principles, the program helps individuals find freedom, peace, joy, and a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ.
Comprehensive Recovery Program Structure
The Thursday evening program follows a carefully designed format that combines large group teaching with intimate small group sharing. From 7:00 to 8:00 PM, participants gather for a large group session featuring worship, a lesson or personal testimony, and community building. From 8:00 to 9:00 PM, attendees break into open sharing small groups that are gender-specific and issue-focused, allowing for deeper connection and vulnerability.
The program addresses a comprehensive range of struggles that affect individuals and their families. Hurts may include experiences of abuse, abandonment, codependency, divorce, grief, stress, betrayal, and relationship issues. Hang-ups encompass struggles with anger, depression, fear, unhealthy body image, shame, pride, procrastination, materialism, laziness, and lack of self-control. Habits covered by the program include issues with; drugs, food, gambling, shopping, social media, smoking, lying, work, popularity, and isolation.
Step Studies and Youth Programming
For participants seeking deeper engagement, Church on the Rock offers Step Studies for both men and women at various times throughout the week. These intensive small groups use The Journey Begins Step Study books by John Baker to personally apply the recovery steps in participants' lives. Step Studies represent where the deepest recovery occurs as individuals work through the material in a supportive, accountable environment.
The church also provides The Landing, a specialized recovery community designed to equip teenagers from 6th through 12th grade to deal with life issues. The Landing meets every Thursday at 7:00 PM, offering age-appropriate support for young people facing their own struggles.
Childcare is available during all Celebrate Recovery meetings, removing barriers for parents who need support while ensuring their children are cared for in a safe environment.
What Celebrate Recovery Is Not
Church on the Rock emphasizes that while Celebrate Recovery is a powerful ministry, it has clear boundaries regarding what it provides. The program is not therapy, counseling, rehabilitation, or treatment. It is not a shelter, a place for gossip, or a place to find romantic relationships. The ministry is not a quick fix, a place demanding perfection, or a place to judge others. Instead, it focuses on providing a supportive community grounded in biblical truth and the transformative power of Jesus Christ.
The program acknowledges that recovery is necessary for everyone with hurts, habits, and hang-ups from the past that still affect their lives today. The 12-step process provides a biblical framework to address these issues and find lasting freedom.
