Mick Ebeling's Not Impossible Labs, known for solving problems the world writes off as impossible — like the EyeWriter and Bento — is now earning recognition on two of Fast Company's 2026 lists
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Music: Not Impossible, a wearable haptic system that lets deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences experience live performances, is built by Not Impossible Labs (NIL) — a studio that has just been named a winner on two of Fast Company's 2026 Best Workplaces for Innovators lists.
"We just see these absurdities, and we say, 'That's not right. The world shouldn't work that way'," said Mick Ebeling, Founder and CEO of Not Impossible Labs. "There's a reason why people want to work with Not Impossible — and that reason is inevitably human; it goes beyond just business."
Music: Not Impossible is one of several projects built on the same instinct: start with one person's problem, then scale the solution. This approach also produced Bento, an NIL project that is building a new model for patient engagement by using access to nutritious food to build trust, then turning that relationship into action on the healthcare activities that improve health and reduce costs, and Project Read The Room, an in-progress effort to bring tactile wayfinding to public spaces.
Ebeling now teaches the "Not Impossible Way" directly to organizations through keynotes and hands-on workshops through the Not Impossible Institute, helping teams break through the mire of status-quo thinking.
About Not Impossible Labs
Not Impossible Labs turns real-world problems into working technology, usually starting with a single person. That instinct produced the EyeWriter, which let a graffiti artist paralyzed by ALS draw and communicate with his family again after seven years without an effective way to do either; Project: Bishop, which helped a blind skateboarder return to competitive skating; Music: Not Impossible, which allows members of the Deaf and hard of hearing comunity feel live performances; and Bento, now a Medicaid/Medicare-covered healthcare model serving more than 50,000 patients.
