Footminders Survey Shows Many Workers Suffer from Foot Pain
Boca Raton, United States - March 15, 2026 / Footminders Inc. /
A recent survey conducted by Footminders among employees who spend extended periods standing or walking has revealed that over half of them suffer from frequent foot pain. The results shed light on the dissatisfaction with the support provided by work shoes and the surprisingly low adoption of orthotic insoles among those experiencing regular discomfort.
The survey indicates that 53% of participants reported facing foot pain several days a week, while 42% noted that their discomfort typically starts before their work shift concludes.
The heel emerged as the most frequently cited area of pain, underscoring the strain on the feet due to prolonged standing or walking. Additionally, the findings suggest that foot discomfort often persists even after work hours.

Despite the high incidence of foot discomfort, a relatively small number of employees experiencing [foot pain from standing all day](https://www.footminders.com/pages/aching-feet "foot pain from standing all day") reported utilizing orthotic support. Among those who suffer from foot pain at least once a week, only 22% indicated they wear orthotic insoles in their footwear.
The survey encompassed workers from a diverse array of industries where extended standing is prevalent. The largest occupational groups represented included employees from the restaurant and food service sectors, retail, healthcare, construction and trades, warehouse and logistics, as well as educators.
"These findings underscore how prevalent foot pain can be for individuals whose jobs demand long hours on their feet," stated Fred Salomon, a customer service representative at Footminders. "Many employees tend to accept soreness as an inevitable part of the job, yet supportive footwear and orthotic insoles can significantly enhance comfort."
